The book was originally published in 2001 by the Oklahoma Historical Society and was out of print for a period of time. The Second Edition, also published by the Oklahoma Historical Society, includes a forward by LeRoy H. Fischer and a new Appendix.  It also contains photographs and maps, and a full index.
